The Fourth Vertical
Lift Aircraft Design (VLAD) Conference.
Join us at the Holiday Inn in the heart of San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf area. The Conference will start first thing on Wednesday, January 18, 2006 and continue through noon on Friday, January 20, 2006. The Conference will be launched with a very timely Keynote Speech from Dr. Ben Tigner (Former Chief Engineer and Deputy Program Manager for Boeing A160) talking about "Designing an Engineering Design Team: Lessons from the Development of the Optimum Speed Rotor".
Speakers will include representatives from Government, industry, and academia. In conjunction with the Conference, on Thursday evening, January 19th, the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter of the AHS will host a dinner meeting featuring Roger Connor, Museum Specialist -- Aeronautics, National Air and Space Museum, Smithsonian Institution as the speaker. His presentation is titled, "Tail Rotors to Turbines: A Journey to the Helicopter's Golden Age and its Aftermath." You will not want to miss this informative and exciting presentation on the history of our industry. See the Preliminary Program for more details.
