Longbow Radars For Kuwait
Longbow Limited Liability Company, Orlando, Fla., has received a $46,021,654 firm-fixed-price contract from the U.S. Army Aviation & Missile Command, for APG-78 fire control radars and support services for the government of Kuwait. The Government of Kuwait has signed a letter of offer and acceptance for 16 Boeing AH-64D Longbow helicopters.
Longbow radars for export differ from those ordered by the US Army only in software. As of July, the Northrop Grumman/Lockheed Martin joint venture had delivered 193 Longbow radars to the US government and 80 to foreign customers. The US Army's current multi-year radar buy for AH-64D Apaches concludes in February 2004. International production stretches into 2005, and additional orders are forecast for the Apache and Comanche.
