NAVAIR Re-establishes Presidential Program Office

The US Navy Naval Air Systems Command at Patuxent River, Maryland has again stood-up a dedicated program office for the presidential helicopter program. PMA-274 was disestablished in the early 1990s when presidential helicopter support functions were consolidated with the CH-53 heavy-lift helicopter program. The re-established office under Col. Frank Mazur will manage development and acquisition of a new presidential helicopter to replace the VH-3Ds Sea Kings that now serve as Marine One.

The heavy-lift helicopter program office, PMA-261, now commanded by Col. Paul Croisetiere, will oversee plans for a CH-53E upgrade.
