SENIOR STRUCTURAL ENGINEER
Advanced Technologies, Inc. (ATI), an employee-owned company, is a leading supplier of prototype
hardware and advanced test-articles for fixed-wing, rotary-wing, UAVÕs, and space exploration R&D
programs. We work with both private and public aerospace related companies as well as government
agencies, universities, and smaller entrepreneurial companies to develop a wide range of aerospace
related products.
The Engineering Team at ATI is currently seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to perform the following
duties:

Provide technical leadership and support in the analysis of aerospace related structures,
using state of the art Finite Element Analysis (FEA) codes.

Design and develop Finite Element (FE) models to simulate aerospace vehicles and components.

Perform structural and thermal static analyses of metallic and composite components using
classical and/or numerical methods.

Perform contact analyses, both linear and non-linear, for moderately complex multi-body
assemblies.

Verify and corroborate FEA results using hand-calculations, spreadsheets, and simple tests.

Determine static-strength, fatigue-life, and/or damage tolerance of metallic and composite
components.

Perform fracture analyses to substantiate design-life and inspection intervals for metallic
components.

Provide reports, procedures, and engineering specifications based upon the results of
engineering analysis.

Verify engineering work of, and provide technical guidance and instruction to others.
Job Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering

Typically 7-10 years experience performing structural analysis of complex mechanical
systems using ANSYS, NASTRAN or equivalent finite element code.

Experience in fatigue and/or fracture analysis is required. An understanding or experience
in composites analysis is also a plus.

Strengths should include a solid foundation in engineering mechanics, and strength of materials.

Must be capable of modeling and analyzing complex mechanical systems without assistance.
