DESIGN ENGINEER

Advanced Technologies, Inc. (ATI), an employee-owned company, is a leading supplier of prototype hardware and advanced test-articles for fixed-wing, rotary-wing, UAV's, and space exploration R&D programs. We work with both private and public aerospace related companies as well as government agencies, universities, and smaller entrepreneurial companies to develop a wide range of aerospace related products.

The Engineering Team at ATI is currently seeking a Design Engineer to perform the following duties:

  • Engineering support in the design of aerospace related structures.
  • Design 3D components and assemblies using Solidworks, Pro-e, and KeyCreator CAD packages.
  • Provide detailed drawings and specifications to facilitate fabrication of designed components and assemblies.
  • Perform hand-calculations and preliminary analysis to determine appropriate initial sizing of structural components.
  • Perform tolerance stack-up analyses to ensure fit and function of complex assemblies.
  • Work with both customers and suppliers to take a design from concept through fabrication, testing, and delivery.
  • Prepare and present design reviews to the customer.
  • Provide reports, procedures, and engineering specifications.
  • Collaborate and work with other engineering and fabrication team members.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Typically 2-5 years experience in designing metallic and/or composite assemblies/components using advanced 3D modeling tools.
  • Knowledge of simple mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic actuation mechanisms.
  • Knowledge of typical aerospace materials (high-strength alloys and composites) is a plus.
  • Strengths should include a solid foundation in engineering mechanics, and strength of materials.
  • Must be capable of modeling and designing complex mechanical systems with minimal assistance.
