Paul E. Haueter Award
The American Helicopter Society's PAUL E. HAUETER AWARD was instituted in 1966 and is is given for an outstanding technical contribution to the field of vertical take-off and landing aircraft development other than a helicopter brought to fruition during the preceding calendar year. The award honors an aeronautical engineer, devoted public servant, and AHS officer who was instrumental in fostering the early development of VTOL aircraft in the United States. The award consists of a large plaque on which is inscribed the name of each winner, and a plaque for the recipient.
